As members of SAGM/AEF/SIM for 45 years, we have always had the deepest respect for Dr. Bob as a man of vision and faith. "Can't" did not seem to be in his vocabulary. To us, he was the "Moses" of the Mission.
So it was that when they asked Ron to follow him as AEF's International Director, the first reaction was , "No way! Follow Moses?" After our three days of secluded prayer, Dr. Bob's phone call came on behalf of the search committee quoting Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." God used Dr. Bob again to encourage others to take steps of faith.
