There is no question that he was a great man. For me as a nephew who lost his own father (Bob's younger brother) early, there was a symbolic role for "Uncle Bob" as a patriarch and a medical role model.
However, the thing that made me proud to be a nephew was his faith. As a man of action, he demonstrated dependence on God which is the sine qua non of faith. That is how I will remember him.
