Dear All,
I have just received the news of your father's passing. I was saddened to read it but rejoice that he is now in the presence of the Lord whom he served so faithfully.
I knew Dr Bob while he worked at the IO in Reading. I was in the office for the whole of that time and appreciated him very much. I don't think I have ever met a man with so much drive and determination as your father had. His dedication to the Lord and His service will stand as an example to many. There must be thousands of people who have been affected for good by knowing your father.
I well remember one special day when we all went to London to see him receive an award. Can't remember exactly what it was now, but I know we all felt very privileged to be there to share this moment with him.
We were upset when his cancer was diagnosed, thinking that it would cause him to slow down or even retire, but not a bit of it! He just kept going...and going!
I pray that you will know the comfort and love of God during this sad time. I will be thinking of you this Thursday when you have his funeral. I'm sure that it will be a time of great thanksgiving for the life of such a great servant of the Lord.
With love and prayers,
Angela (George)
