Dear Foster family,
Though I haven’t seen Bob and Belva for years, I always enjoyed their Christmas letters and kept up some through daughter Sheila.
I think I knew Bob as well as anyone outside the family could. I wrote his biography, Sword and Scalpel, and tell people it was the easiest book I’ve written. The stories just flowed out of him. I interviewed dozens of friends and family, but regret I never got to Angola to see his legacy there.
He was a man with a great heart for people and a passion for God. Now he has his energy back and I can imagine him letting out one of those great laughs as he meets so many who are gathering up there for the final reunion at the throne.
All who knew him were blessed as my husband Al (who’s up there laughing with Bob) and I were.
