Memories from Melanie

Dear Stuart, Sindia and all the family,

There will be great rejoicing as your dear Father is now free from pain and with the Lord who he served so faithfully.

I remember him as one of those giants for God who was never afraid to step out in faith.  He was a great encouragement to me especially during the year I was raising support to return to Africa having been out as an associate.  He also encouraged the elders at my church to get moving in deciding how much support they could give me, in a way only Dr Bob could - firm but gracious!  At the candidates course that year we had a great game of UNO in his and Belva's home and in his typical humorous way he told me I was fired from AEF as I gave him a +4!

He preached on one of the Reading weekends at Tilehurst Baptist and I still clearly remember the message that had a big impact on me.  He spoke on the feeding of the five thousand and stressed how God can take our little and make it into so much.  I also so enjoyed listening to stories of both his and Belva's experiences in Africa.  How much they had allowed God to take the little and make it great.

All the family are very much in our prayers as you adjust to the hole he will leave in your lives.

With love,

Melanie Lodemore (nee Tucker)
