Tribute from the son of fellow missionaries

Dear Auntie Belva, Steve, Sharon, Sheila, Stacey, Stirling and
remainder of the family,

How I thank God for Uncle Bob and God using him to call Papa and
Mama to Africa as missionaries 60 years ago!  Growing up with your
family is a treasured memory.  Sharing Mukinge, Sakeji, Luampa, Kaindu
and contact through the years has been a privilege.

What your parents have accomplished, the enduring works, the rippling effect through
everywhere they have visited will only be revealed in eternity.

Uncle Bob saved lives in our personal family, and has always been an
inspiration to me of a Godly man, husband and father.  What a joyful
heritage to have his children walking with God, and grandchildren
walking with God.  Surely as the gates of heaven opened there was a
giant crowd cheering him  in, surely a host singing, "Thank you for
giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed!".  Surely the Lord
would greet him with the words, "Excellently done, good servant,
persevering servant! Wait 'til you see what I have for you!"

Seeing our parent's bodies weakened by old age makes it easier to
let them go, though the world seems less secure without them in it, if
you know what I mean.  They might be weak in body, but still mighty in
spirit.

I honor your Dad, and your family as special family to me.  If
there is anything I can do for you, let me know.

Love, and empathy,

Steve Fields
